View allThe origins of magic, kindly explained by a brilliant and beautiful blue-haired wizard! (Nebo Department Promotional Post)
Students at Magiya Academy study magic. Before choosing which magic to explore, they first enter 'Nechinet' to learn the foundational theories and practices of what magic actually is. After encountering various forms of magic in Nechinet, they then choose one of the six Departments of Magic.
Element, which deals with the elemental forces
Temni, which investigates darkness and the mind
Vogue, which explores gods, divinity, life and death
Vizibat, which summons and wields power from other worlds, such as spirits
Istonique, which deals with time and space
And finally, Nebo, which studies 'Akasha' — the source of power in this world that makes magic possible
The department I'm about to introduce is 'Nebo,' the one I belong to. Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet.
My name is Heilan. I'm a brilliant, beautiful, blue-haired wizard. (Don't go falling for my face — I'm too busy studying magic and pursuing truth.) I'm currently enrolled at Magiya Academy and belong to Nebo.
Nebo is different from the other departments. While the other five departments choose a sub-topic within broad themes like elements, summoning, darkness, divinity, or time-space, and then create and explore related magic, Nebo is a department that studies how and why we became able to use magic in the first place. In simple terms, think of it as studying the origins, truth, history, and source of magic.
Five hundred years ago, a wizard enrolled at Magiya Academy made a groundbreaking discovery. They found the source of magic that nobody had been able to explain. It turned out that in our world, there exists a force that 'defies the natural order' — energy that goes against nature. The wizard named this discovered energy 'Akasha,' and then began a deep investigation into how Akasha relates to the world. A genius wizard almost on my level (well, I'm the greater genius, obviously), but unfortunately they never achieved any research breakthroughs beyond discovering Akasha itself. They set up numerous hypotheses about the relationship between Akasha and the world, but later generations proved them all wrong.
The many wizards who inherited their legacy created a new Department of Magic called 'Nebo' at Magiya Academy and began researching the origins of the world. One of those successors is none other than me, Heilan.
Carrying on the legacy of the wizard who discovered Akasha, I unfortunately haven't had luck on my side and haven't produced any notable research results yet. Oh, what's my research topic? I'm studying 'the relationship between individual organisms' innate natural affinities and Akasha.' Some trees have great compatibility with darkness, some humans match well with the sky, and certain spaces have an affinity with fire. I'm researching why specific natural elements and specific beings have such strong mutual compatibility, and what connection this has to Akasha. Ahem, was that a bit difficult? Well, even this genius beauty wizard has headaches studying it, so there's no way you'd understand it easily. Completely understandable!
Anyone who wants to learn about the origins of the world, come join Nebo. (Those who want to see a blue-haired genius beauty are also welcome.) Oh, why am I writing this? Nobody has been applying to Nebo lately, so the seniors told me to write a promotional post. I think I did pretty well, right? This genius wizard is never wrong, after all.
Hey, you — reading this right now. Yeah, you! Come join Nebo. I'll make it fun for you.
