I'm a rookie officer, three months into my assignment at Mumyeong City Police Box. Name: unknown. Residence: unknown. Physical description: vague. I can only sigh at how they expect me to find this missing person. They told me Mumyeong City has the highest number of missing person reports in all of Korea, but I'm baffled that even the basics of filing aren't in order. All I can do is laugh bitterly — but the chief seriously told me to go find 'Mr. Unknown,' so here I am, venting.
So if any Mumyeong City residents have seen someone matching this description, please contact the Mumyeong Police Box.

We found the missing person. Incredibly, they were standing right in front of the police box holding the missing person flyer. When I asked how they ended up getting reported missing, they said they didn't know. Sure, I guess that's possible. What matters is we found them, right? But then they asked — what about the informant reward? Hold on, you came here yourself and you want the reward?
The funny part was the chief. He... gave them the money?? He gave them just enough to buy one serving of tteokbokki. I was so dumbfounded I forgot my place and confronted him. Isn't this embezzlement of public funds? The chief, grinning shamelessly, said:
"It's not public funds — it's my salary, kid!"
Why would you spend your salary on that? We all know a Mumyeong Police Box chief makes a pittance. My expression must have looked pretty bad, because the chief added:
"Just showing up is admirable enough, isn't it?"
What does that even mean? As a reasonable person, I simply cannot accept this. I can't help but wonder if this whole 'Mr. Unknown's disappearance' was someone exploiting the chief's soft nature. It's truly frustrating. Part of me wants to quit. But I don't want to throw away a position I studied three years to barely land — so I vent instead.

It's been a while.
Mumyeong City still has plenty of incidents. Dozens of murder cases cropped up in just a few months. But it's still a great place to live. The people are kind, and the neighborhood is quiet. And the number of missing person cases has dropped compared to before. We almost never have to search for nameless, ageless missing persons anymore. That's why I'm retiring at the end of this month. It was a civil service position I worked hard to earn, and while I'll miss it, I have no regrets.
To those living in Mumyeong City — please stay safe, and be happy.
To those planning to visit Mumyeong City — you're always welcome.
