What people believe in — and what they worship — in Mumyeong City.
Who was it who said that religion inevitably springs up wherever people gather?
As a city formed by refugees who gathered during the Korean War, all manner of religions found their way into Mumyeong City. Under this influence, Mumyeong City now has temples and houses of worship for a wide variety of faiths, all coexisting peacefully. Embracing everyone and standing together is, after all, a virtue of Mumyeong City.
Whether you believe in God, Buddha, a six-tusked elephant, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or a fire-breathing demon — nobody really minds. Mumyeong City is a city where perfect freedom of religion is guaranteed. If your faith is important, then the other person's faith is equally important, wouldn't you say? You're welcome to proselytize as much as you like, as long as it doesn't harm the citizens.
In fact, missionaries recently arrived from our sister city — Innsmouth, Massachusetts, in the United States. The Innsmouth missionaries have built a green church and are working hard to spread the word about some being that lives deep beneath the sea. You can't help but admire their dedication. Coming all the way to a foreign land and pouring such passion into sharing their beliefs.
In any case, no matter what faith you hold, Mumyeong City always welcomes you with open arms.
Because Mumyeong City is a wonderful city open to all!
※ However, please be advised that pouring sauce ON TOP of sweet and sour pork is subject to summary judgment by the Mayor's personal Inquisitor. Mumyeong City may be an open city, but it is not lenient enough to tolerate such an atrocious criminal act.
